  • 8 tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp. butter, melted
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 1-2/3 cup boiling water

    Stir together flour, 3 Tbsp.

    of the cocoa, baking powder, and salt; set aside.

    In large bowl, combine 1/2 cup sugar, butter, and vanilla.

    Stir flourmixture into sugar mixture alternately with milk, blending well after each addition.

    casserole dish, combine the remaining 1/2 cup sugar, 5 Tbsp.

    cocoa, and boiling water.
