Ingredients

  • 2 c. Sugar
  • 1/4 c. White Corn Syrup
  • 1/2 c. Milk
  • 1/2 c. Shortening
  • 2 Squares Unsweetened Chocolate (2 oz.)
  • 1/4 tsp. Salt

Directions

    Melt the shortening and chocolate over hot water or in microwave.

    Add the rest of the ingredients, stirring constantly, bring rapidly to a full boil.

    Boil to 220° or exactly one minute. Cool in a pan of ice water until lukewarm.

    Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla and beat until icing begins to lose its gloss and is a consistency to spread.
