- 1 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 Tbsp. melted butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1/4 c. cocoa
Directions

1Combine first 5 dry ingredients sifting three times.

2Combine milk, vanilla and margarine; add to flour mixture.

3Stir in chopped walnuts or use pecans.

4Spread in 6-cup casserole.

5It will be thick.

6Mix brown sugar and cocoa; sprinkle over batter. Pour 1 1/2 cups boiling water over cake.

7Bake at 350° for 50 minutes.

8Serve warm.

9Top with ice cream if desired.
