  • 2 md. onions, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • margarine
  • 2 tbsp. water
  • 1 day-old bread, crusts removed
  • 1-1/2 cup mashed potatoes
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp. fresh savory
  • 2 tsp. dried savory
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. salt

Directions

    In a skillet, saute onions in butter and water until tender, stirring occasionally.

    Break bread into small pieces; place in a large bowl.

    Add potatoes, broth, savory, salt, pepper and onion mixture; mix well.

    Place in a 2 qt.

    baking dish.

    Cover and bake at 325F for 1 hour or until lightly browned.
