- 1 1/3 c. flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 3/4 tsp. baking powder
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 egg
- 2/3 c. milk
- 1/4 tsp. vanilla
- cooking oil
- powdered sugar
Directions

1Sift together flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder and sugar; set aside.

2Beat eggs; blend in milk and vanilla.

3Add to dry ingredients and beat until smooth.

4In a large frying pan or iron skillet, pour enough oil to cover the bottom by 1/2 inch. Heat to just short of smoking, 365°.

5Carefully pour batter into a small funnel while holding finger to bottom.

6Drop batter in oil by releasing finger.

7Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
