- 1 c. flour
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 large or medium egg, lightly beaten
- 3/4 c. milk
- vegetable oil for frying
- powdered sugar
Directions

1Combine flour, granulated sugar, baking powder and salt in a large bowl.

2Gradually add the beaten egg and milk until well blended.

3Let mixture stand 15 minutes.

4Heat 1/3 inch of oil in a deep skillet or deep fryer to 390°.

5When oil is hot, pour the batter into a funnel, drizzling in a thin stream of batter into hot oil.

6Start in the center of the skillet, circling continuously until pan is filled or cake is to desired size.

7Do not stop pouring until cake is complete.

8Fry on each side until golden brown.

9Drain on paper towels and serve warm with powdered sugar for dipping.

10Makes 6 large funnel cakes.
