  • 1 to 2 pkg. game hens
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • flour
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes
  • 2 c. water
  • 1 tsp. thyme
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1/2 c. white wine (optional)
  • butter or margarine

Directions

    Split hens and brown in large covered skillet with 2 tablespoons butter or margarine.

    Sprinkle hens in and out with salt, pepper and flour.

    Dissolve bouillon in water and pour over hens.
  4. 4
    Reduce heat to simmer, sprinkle with thyme and bay leaves, cover and simmer about 40 minutes or until tender.

    (Add wine last 20 minutes, if desired.)
