Ingredients: 2 c. applesauce; 2 eggs; 1/2 c. butter; 1 c. dates, chopped; 1 c. walnuts, chopped; 1 tsp. vanilla extract; 1/2 tsp. lemon extract; 1/3 tsp. salt; 1 1/2 c. sugar; 2 tsp. baking soda; 2 c. all-purpose flour; 1 tsp. ground cinnamon; 1 tsp. ground nutmeg; 1/2 tsp. ground cloves; 1 Tbsp. molasses

2 c. applesauce
2 eggs
1/2 c. butter
1 c. dates, chopped
1 c. walnuts, chopped

1/2 tsp. lemon extract
1/3 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1 Tbsp. molasses

Preheat oven to 325°.

Stir all ingredients into large bowl in order given.

(Butter should be soft.)

Mix by hand, then beat on medium speed with mixer for 2 minutes.

Pour into buttered 9 x 13-inch pan and bake 1 hour and 20 minutes until a toothpick comes out dry.

Cool, then top with cream cheese frosting.
