- 3-1/2 cups Flour
- 5 teaspoons Baking Powder
- 1-1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 2/3 cups Shortening
- 1-1/2 cup Buttermilk
- 2 cloves Garlic, Minced Finely
- 3/4 cups Grated Sharp Cheddar Cheese
Directions

1Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

2Mix all dry ingredients. Add shortening and mix till a crumbly texture is achieved. Mix in buttermilk. Add garlic and mix until well incorporated. Stir in cheese.

3Roll dough onto a well-floured surface to a thickness of 1/4 to 1/2 inch. Cut with a 2-inch biscuit cutter.

4Place on a baking stone or cookie sheet with sides touching.

5Bake for 12 - 15 minutes until golden brown.
