  • 5 c. flour, sifted (self-rising)
  • 1 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1 large clove garlic, minced
  • 2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 stick butter (use real butter, not oleo)
  • 1 c. Crisco
  • 2 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1/2 c. warm water

    Cut Crisco into flour.

    Add buttermilk.

    Pour yeast in; mix well.

    Add cheese and garlic; mix well.

    Sift flour on plastic paper.

    Roll out dough and cut.

    Dip each biscuit in butter.

    Bake on ungreased cookie sheet.
