Garlic Mashed Potatoes

- 2 large idaho baking potatoes (Approximately 2 lbs total)
- 1 head garlic
- 1 (5 ounce) can evaporated milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- salt
- pepper
Directions

1Peel potatoes and cut into 1/2 inch thick slices.

2Peel garlic into individual cloves.

3Simmer potato slices and garlic cloves in a sauce pan with enough water to barely cover.

4Once the potatoes are tender, drain the water from the pan, reserving 1/2 cup of water.

5Mash the potatoes with the evaporated milk and butter.

6Depending upon the size of the potatoes you may need more liquid.

7You can use some of the reserved potato water, or more butter, or regular milk.

8I usually use regular milk.

9Season to taste with salt and butter.
