Garlic Tri-Tip

  • 1.5-3 lb. Tri-tip roast USDA Choice grade or better
  • 1-3 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1-2 cups dry red wine
  • 1-2 cups soy sauce
  • qt. sized ziplock plastic bag

    place Tri-tip roast in the ziplock bag, add garlic to your personal taste but at least 1 teaspoon, add equal amts. red wine and soy sauce, enough to cover the roast. Marinate at least 8 hours or overnite if possible. Turn the bag once or twice to ensure even marinating. Heat Grill to Med-Hi heat, sear for 5 minutes each side then reduce heat or move to side to avoid direct flame, cook additional 10-20 minutes depending on the size of roast or until it reaches your preferred doneness level. Med. rare is about 140 degrees in ctr. of roast. Slice across the grain 1/4 incg slices and serve w/drippings.
