- 2 c. milk
- 4 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 5 eggs
- 2 1/2 c. half and half
Directions

1Make batter the night before.

2Dissolve yeast in warm water.

3Heat milk and shortening; let cool to warm stage.

4Add flour, sugar, salt and yeast.

5Beat well.

6Cover and let stand overnight in refrigerator.

7In the morning, add eggs one at a time, beating well, then add half and half.

8Batter will be thin.

9Let mixture stand 30 minutes.

10Pour 1/4 cup into heavy frying pan over moderately high heat.

11Roll pan so that dough runs edge to edge. Turn before batter looks dry.

12Put on platter and brush with melted butter between pancakes.

13Serve with syrup.
