- 2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 tsp. butter flavoring
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 c. vegetable shortening
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 4 sq. German sweet chocolate, melted
Directions

1Cream sugar and shortening until light and fluffy.

2Add eggs one at a time and beat well.

3Add flavoring and buttermilk.

4Sift in dry ingredients.

5Stir in melted chocolate.

6Pour into a greased and floured 9-inch tube pan.

7Bake in 300° oven for 1 1/2 hours.
