  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs, separated
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2-1/2 cup cake flour, sifted

  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1-1/2 cup flaked coconut
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped

    Beat 4 eggs whites until stiff peaks form, set aside.

    Melt chocolate in boiling water; cool.

    In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, then add yolks one at a time, beating well after each addition.
