  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 sq. butter
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 3 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

    Sift sugar and flour together.

    In saucepan, bring butter, shortening, cocoa and water to a boil.

    Pour over flour mixture; mix well.

    Add buttermilk, soda, eggs, vanilla and cinnamon.

    Bake in cake pans (greased and floured) for about 40 minutes at 350°.
