  • 3/4 c. butter or margarine
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 whole eggs
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. allspice
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 2/3 c. cherry preserves
  • 2/3 c. pineapple preserves
  • 2/3 c. apricot preserves
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla

    Grease and flour loaf pan or large angel cake pan.

    Cream together butter or margarine and sugar.

    Add eggs.

    Sift together flour (leave rounded on top of cups), cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice.

    Mix soda with buttermilk.

    Add to first ingredients alternately with dry ingredients.

    Fold in cherry preserves, pineapple preserves, apricot preserves, nuts and vanilla.

    Bake 1 1/2 hours at 325°.

    Let stand for 15 minutes before removing from pan.
