- 12 oz. pie filling (cherry or blueberry)
- 2 c. flour
- 3 eggs, well beaten
- 1 c. shortening (use 1/2 c. Crisco and 1/2 c. butter for flavor)
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/8 tsp. salt
Directions

1Cream shortening; add sugar, beaten eggs, flour, salt and vanilla.

2Spread into a 9 x 12-inch greased pan.

3Reserve 1 cup batter for top.

4After spreading the portion of batter in bottom of pan, spoon pie filling on batter.

5Drop the rest of the batter on top of filling, not completely covering it.

6When baked, fruit will ooze up through batter.

7Bake at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes.

8Bake at 325° if using glass dish.
