- 2 lb. ground beef
- 2 slices bread
- 2 medium onions, grated
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- dash of pepper
- 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 3/4 c. raisins
- 3 1/2 c. drained sauerkraut
- 8 gingersnaps
- 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
Directions

1Combine beef, bread, half onion, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt and pepper.

2Mold into balls.

3In Dutch oven, combine remaining onion, sugar, raisins, kraut, gingersnaps and tomato sauce.

4Add meat balls; simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
