  • 1 1/2 c. shortening
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 5 eggs, added one at a time
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/4 c. milk

Directions

    Cream shortening, sugar and eggs well.

    Add the flour, baking powder, salt, cocoa and vanilla (dry mixture).

    Gradually add milk. Bake in preheated 325° oven for 1 1/2 hours.
