- 1 small head red cabbage
- 1 small chopped onion
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/4 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
- 1 chopped apple
- 3 slices bacon
Directions

1Remove cabbage core; shred cabbage.

2Add onion, sugar, salt, bay leaf and water.

3Bring to a boil, then simmer 20 minutes.

4Add vinegar and apple.

5Cook additional 3 or 4 minutes.

6Sprinkle with bacon bits.
