  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 3 eggs (medium)
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. water
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 c. chopped dates
  • 1/2 c. raisins
  • 1/2 c. candied cherries

Directions

    Cream the butter. Add sugar gradually.

    Beat in eggs (well beaten first). Dissolve soda in water. Add to mixture with sifted flour. Drop on greased sheet.

    Bake 15 minutes at 375° depending on oven. If electric, 350°.

    Fruit should be floured before added. If dough is runny, add more flour.

    Cookies should not be flat.
