  • 30 whole Strawberries
  • 8 ounces, weight White Chocolate, Chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Shortening
  • 1/8 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 cups Miniature Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips

    Wash strawberries and gently pat with paper towels until completely dry. It's important that the strawberries are absolutely dry in order to dip them into the chocolate.

    In a microwave-safe bowl, melt white chocolate and shortening at 50% power; stir until smooth. I started the microwave at 3 minutes and stirred every 30 seconds until the chocolate was completely melted.

    Stir in the extract. Dip dry strawberries in chocolate mixture; place on a waxed paper-lined baking sheet. Immediately press chocolate chips into the coating for eyes. Freeze for 5 minutes.

    In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the remaining chocolate chips and stir until smooth. Dip a toothpick into the melted chocolate and draw a mouth on each face.
