- 1 c. dark brown sugar, packed
- 1 egg
- 2 Tbsp. soft butter
- 1/4 c. molasses
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. sifted flour
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ginger
- 1/4 tsp. cloves
- 1/4 c. milk
- 1 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Mix together the sugar, egg, butter, molasses and vanilla. Sift flour with soda, salt and spices; add alternately with milk to first mixture.

2Mix well.

3Add nuts.

4Pour into a greased 9-inch square pan.

5Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes or until done.

6Cool in pan, then cut.
