- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 1 cup molasses
- 4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda (disolved in the boiling water below)
- 1 tablespoon boiling water
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1 pinch salt
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350.

2Cream together the shortening and sugar.

3Beat in the eggs.

4Add the molasses and baking soda water.

5Sift together the flour and ginger.

6Combine the other ingredients and mix well.

7Pour into greased muffin tins and bake for 20 minutes or until done.
