  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 c. shortening (lard)
  • 1 c. baking molasses
  • 1 1/2 c. sour milk
  • 3 tsp. ginger
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 tsp. soda
  • flour to stiffen

Directions

    Cream eggs, sugar, shortening and molasses.

    Add soda to sour milk and add to creamed mixture.

    Add enough flour to roll nice, but do not roll too thin.

    Cut into favorite shapes with cookie cutter.

    Bake at 375° to 400°.
