Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 4 Tbsp. dark molasses
  • 1/2 tsp. ginger
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 c. flour

Directions

    Cream shortening, sugar, egg and dark molasses.

    Mix well and add ginger, cinnamon, baking soda and flour.

    Chill and roll in ball about the size of a walnut.

    Then roll in granulated sugar. Put on ungreased cookie sheet; bake at 375° for 8 to 10 minutes.
