  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. molasses
  • 4 1/2 c. flour
  • 4 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cloves, ground
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon and ginger

Directions

    Beat sugar, eggs and molasses. Add dry ingredients. Refrigerate.

    Roll into balls and dip in sugar.

    Press down with a glass. Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes on ungreased cookie sheet.
