- 1 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 c. dark molasses
- 1/2 c. strong coffee
- 5 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
- 1 Tbsp. baking soda
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
Directions

1Cream shortening and sugar.

2Add egg, then molasses and coffee (instant coffee made double strength is good).
