- 1/4 c. soft shortening
- 1 small egg
- 1/2 c. molasses
- 2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. egg
- 1/2 c. cold water
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1/2 tsp. cloves
Directions

1Mix shortening, sugar, egg and molasses thoroughly. Stir in water. Sift dry ingredients together and stir in.

2Heat oven to 400°.

3Drop rounded teaspoonfuls about 2-inches apart onto lightly greased baking sheet. Bake 7 to 8 minutes until almost no imprint remains when touched lightly with finger. While slightly warm frost with Quick Cream Icing.
