- 6 ounces butter or 6 ounces margarine, at room temperature
- 4 ounces self-rising flour
- 2 ounces sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 2 teaspoons golden syrup
- 4 ounces confectioners' sugar
Directions

1Preheat the oven to 375F.

2Cream 4 ounces of the butter/margarine with the sugar.

3Stir in the flour and ginger.

4Press mixture into a 7x11 inch baking pan and bake for 20 minutes until golden.

5Place the remaining butter/margarine, syrup and confectioner's sugar in a small saucepan and heat gently until melted.

6Pour the topping over the ginger crunch and leave to set.

7Cut the ginger crunch into squares or fingers.
