- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. light molasses
- 5 Tbsp. butter, melted
- 2/3 c. cold water
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- whipped topping
Directions

1Combine egg, sugar, molasses, butter and water; mix well.

2In a large mixing bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, ginger and salt.

3Add molasses mixture.

4Beat until well mixed.

5Pour into a greased 8-inch square baking pan or loaf pan.

6Bake in 350° for 30 minutes or until done.

7Serve warm with whipped topping.
