- 1 c. flour
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 3/4 tsp. ginger
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 2 egg whites
- 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
- 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 c. applesauce
- 1/2 c. light molasses
- powdered sugar
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Spray an 8 x 8-inch pan with cooking spray.

3In large bowl, combine flours, brown sugar, spices, baking powder and soda.

4In small bowl, combine buttermilk, applesauce, molasses and eggs.

5Add to flour.

6Beat with electric beaters until mixed.

7Bake 30 to 35 minutes.

8Cool 10 minutes.

9Do not substitute all-purpose flour for whole wheat.
