  • 2 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp ginger
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp cloves
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup soft butter
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup dark molasses

    Place flour, sugar, soda, baking powder, salt, and spices in mixing bowl.

    Add remaining ingredients and mix together until well blended.

    Poor into well greased 9 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan

    Bake at 350F for 30 to 40 minutes or until gingerbread springs back when lightly touched in center.
