Ingredients
- 3 cup all purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 3/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp ground ginger
- 1 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground cloved
- 6 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
Directions

1Preheat oven to 375F.

2Prepare baking sheets by spraying with cooking spray or lining with parchment paper

3In small bowl whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon and cloves until well blended.

4In a large bowl beat butter, brown sugar and egg on medium speed until well blended.

5Gradually stir in dry ingredients until blended and smooth

6Divide dough in half and wrap each half in plastic and let stand at room temperature for 2 hours

7Place one portion of dough on a lightly floured surface

8Sprinkle flour over dough and rolling pin

9Roll dough to scant 1/4 inch thick

10Cut out cookies with desired cookie cutter

11Space cookies 1 1/2 inches apart

12Bake for 7 to 10 minutes.

13The lower time will give softer cookies

14After cookies cool you can decorate them any way you like.
