- 2 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1 1/2 tsp. powdered ginger
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. molasses
- 1/3 c. butter
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. raisins
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
Directions

1Sift flour, soda, ginger and salt; set aside.

2Heat the molasses and butter until lukewarm.

3Pour in buttermilk and slightly beaten egg.

4Beat thoroughly.

5Add the raisins and nuts to flour mixture and stir in molasses only until blended.

6Drop into buttered muffin pans, 3/4 full.

7Sprinkle top with cinnamon and sugar (1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/2 cup sugar).

8Bake at 325° for about 25 minutes.
