  • 3 c. sugar
  • 2 3/4 c. shortening
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 c. sorghum
  • 2 tsp. cloves
  • 2 tsp. ginger
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp. soda
  • 8 c. flour (1/2 whole wheat)

Directions

    Cream sugar, shortening and salt.

    Add eggs and sorghum.

    Put dry ingredients in a bowl and mix with a wire whip to blend, then add to the other ingredients.

    Chill.

    Bake at 375° for 10 minutes.
