- 1 c. brown sugar
- 3/4 c. Crisco
- 1/4 c. molasses
- 1 egg
- 2 1/4 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. cloves
- 1/2 tsp. salt
Directions

1In a large bowl beat brown sugar, molasses, Crisco and egg until fluffy.

2In another bowl sift together remaining ingredients. Add dry ingredients gradually to sugar mixture.

3Mix thoroughly. Form dough into balls 1/2 inch in diameter.

4Roll balls in granulated sugar.

5Place balls on greased cookie sheets.

6Bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes.
