- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. Crisco shortening
- 1 egg
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. cloves
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp. ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 4 Tbsp. molasses
Directions

1Cream sugar and shortening together.

2Beat in egg and molasses. Mix remaining dry ingredients together and add to form a stiff dough.

3Roll into walnut size balls and roll balls in granulated sugar.

4Place on cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.

5They will flatten out when baked.

6Bake at 350° for 10 minutes.
