- 3/4 c. butter
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 c. molasses
- 4 c. sifted flour
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 tsp. cloves
- 2 tsp. ginger
- 3/4 c. sugar
Directions

1Cream butter and shortening until soft and light, then add 2 cups sugar and continue creaming until fluffy.

2Beat in eggs and molasses.

3Sift all dry ingredients and add to mix little by little (beating hard).

4Batter will be quite soft.

5Roll into balls and into remaining sugar.

6Place on greased baking sheet. Cook 12 to 15 minutes at 375°.

7Let stand a minute before removing from pan.
