- 1 c. sugar
- 4 Tbsp. molasses
- 1 egg
- 2 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1 tsp. cloves
Directions

1Cream shortening and sugar; add the molasses and well beaten egg.

2Add dry ingredients and beat until smooth.

3Roll into small balls (size of a walnut); dip or roll in granulated sugar and place 2 inches apart on greased baking sheet.

4Bake at 350° for about 10 minutes or until lightly browned on bottom.
