- 1 cup molasses
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1 cup butter or 1 cup lard, melted
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 14 cup warm water
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 14 teaspoon salt
Directions

1Put molasses and ginger in a bowl, add melted butter and sugar, then egg and warm water; sift flour and baking soda and salt; work it into the other ingredients.

2Roll out to 1/4 inch thick, and cut in rounds.

3Place on parchment lined baking sheets.

4Bake at 350F for 15 minutes.
