- 1 c. sugar
- 2 c. all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp. ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
- 3/4 c. Crisco shortening
- 1/4 c. Grandma molasses
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- granulated sugar
Directions

1Combine the sugar with flour, salt, soda, cinnamon, ginger and cloves.

2Cut in shortening until mixture looks like crumbs. Stir in molasses and egg.

3Mix well.

4Shape dough into 1 inch balls - no bigger- and roll in sugar.

5Bake at 350° for 10 minutes.

6Remove from cookie sheet immediately because cookies firm quickly as they cool.

7Makes about 4 1/2 dozen cookies. These are good and easy to make.
