  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 3 tsp. soda (rounding)
  • 1 c. molasses
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 tsp. ginger
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 4 c. flour

    Cream the shortening, sugar and eggs; add molasses and vanilla.

    Add dry ingredients.

    Take small balls of the dough, roll in hand and flatten slightly.

    If the cookies do not crack; add more flour.

    Bake on greased cookie sheet at 350°
