  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2/3 c. soft butter or melted shortening
  • 1/4 c. molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Directions

    Beat first four ingredients together.

    Add remaining ingredients after sifting together.

    Chill.

    Roll in balls about size of a quarter.

    Bake at 350° for about 15 minutes and roll in granulated sugar. Makes 4 dozen.
