  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves

Directions

    Cream shortening and sugar; beat in egg.

    Stir in molasses. Sift dry ingredients into mixture.
