- 3/4 c. shortening
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 c. molasses
- 2 1/4 c. flour
- 2 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. ginger
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Cream together the shortening and sugar. Add the beaten egg and molasses and mix well.

3Add the sifted dry ingredients to first mixture and blend together.

4Chill dough for several hours.

5Shape the cooled dough into small balls about the size of a walnut and dip the tops in sugar.

6Bake 12 to 15 minutes at 350°.

7Makes approximately 4 dozen cookies.
