  • 1 can sliced Bartlett pears (in syrup)
  • 1 3/4 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp.
  • 1 3/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 6 Tbsp. butter
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2/3 c. whipping cream

    Grease and flour 8-inch round cake pan.

    Drain pears; reserve syrup.

    Blend flour, sugar, salt and baking powder in a small bowl.

    Cut in butter.

    Pour milk over mixture and toss with a fork.

    Spoon into cake pan.

    Top with pears; brush with syrup and sprinkle with cinnamon.

    Bake at 400° until golden brown, approximately 45 minutes.
