- 1/4 c. melted butter (1/2 stick)
- 5 Tbsp. sifted flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. onion salt
- 2 1/2 c. milk or light cream
- 1 1/3 c. Minute rice
- 1 1/2 c. turkey or chicken broth
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. grated American cheese
- 1 1/2 c. cooked asparagus
- 2 c. (6 slices) sliced turkey
- 2 Tbsp. toasted slivered almonds (optional)
Directions

1Combine the first 5 ingredients and cook over hot water, stirring occasionally, until thickened.

2Pour Minute rice (right from the box) into a 2-quart shallow baking dish.

3Combine broth and salt.

4Pour over rice. Sprinkle half of the cheese over rice. Top with asparagus, then turkey.

5Cover with sauce and sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake at 375° for about 20 minutes. Top with almonds, if desired.
