  • 3 to 4 c. yellow corn meal
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • Cheddar or Mozzarella cheese, in chunks
  • boiling water
  • oil for frying
  • 1 or 2 cans Ro-Tel or salsa picante sauce

Directions

    Add flour to corn meal in a large bowl.

    Add boiling water to dry ingredients (enough to form a stiff dough).

    Shape dough around small chunks of cheese.

    Shape like a biscuit.

    Drop in hot grease; cook until firm or lightly brown.

    Cool slightly. Slit open and add sauce.
